These photos were taken today at Nääs Castle and its surroundings. The castle is home to Scandinavia’s most complete and undisturbed 19th century interior. All the styles of the period are represented and the art collection, along with its prints, is regarded as a magnificent example of 19th century drawing room art. 17th century architecture can be clearly seen in the castle’s cellars, and the kitchen with its vaulted ceiling shows that not all historical traces were lost during the castle’s 19th century modernization. Nääs is cared for according to the last will and testament of August Abrahamson by a foundation managed by the state. In total, Nääs has 1500 hectares of forest and farmland and nearly 70 estate and college buildings. For more scenic photos visit Scenic Sunday
