On a hill close to where I live is something that looks like an old castle ruin. However, it is just a stage set/coulisse, built by chemist and industry leader Ernst Harbeck junior, around the year 1900. He wanted the ruin to resemble a Rhenborg so that his German-born wife, who suffered from severe homesickness, could sit up there and look out over the "Rhine Valley".
The old church was most likely built during the 13th century.

SvaraRaderaHere in the UK those 'fake' buildings are called a folly, meaning something silly but picturesque to have in your garden. Usually a ruined building.
